Heather & the Barbarians are a Brooklyn based Americana-rock group featuring the lovely vocals of Heather Masse. They present an elegant, insistent melange of jazz, country-blues, folk, soul, and rock and roll. The Barbarians formed at the New England Conservatory of Music in 2003 and have been performing in Boston and New York City for several years. In 2006, Heather & the Barbarians recorded their debut LP at Signature Sound Studios and released Tell Me Tonight the following year. In 2008, the Barbarians began work on a new record that will be forthcoming in 2009.

Lead vocalist Heather Masse is also a member of the Canadian folk group The Wailin' Jennys. The Jenny's have been performing at venues across North America, the UK and as frequent guests on Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion. Other members of Heather & the Barbarians have performed with artists such as Adrienne Young, King Wilkie, Casey Dienel, Julian Velard, Michael Buble, holus Bolus, and Cat Show Snapshots. The Barbarians feature Josh Sinton and Adam Schneit on saxophones, Peter Bitenc on Bass and Joel Arnow on drums.The January residency will include guitarists Hans Holzen (Carrie Rodriguez) and Daniel Marcus (Crescent and Frost) as well as new material that the band is currently writing.
