Hearts and Flowers: Giving Back to the Community February 3, 2013

Find the many ways the craftspeople at Orchard Artworks are expressing love in their new exhibit Hearts and Flowers: Giving Back to the Community. Their displays not only feature hearts and flowers but when you purchase an item at the opening on Sunday, February 3, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Orchard Project.

The project is working to preserve the Academy Orchards historic site which includes the former Academy apple orchard, the barn that now houses, the Bryn Athyn Thrift Shop (BATS) and the historic Powell farm house, now Orchard Artworks. The Orchard Project will develop the site’s potential for educational, cultural, and community uses.

The exhibit will continue until Sunday, February 24. Gallery hours are 10am-4pm Friday and Saturday, and 1-4pm on Sunday.

Orchard Artworks features works from close to forty local artists working in contemporary craft and fine art. It is a cooperative housed in a farm house that is close to 200 years old at 520 Tomlinson Road, Bryn Athyn, PA 19006. For information contact 215-947-9882 or www.orchardartworks.org
