Teddy bears, yoga and bike safety: Healthy Starts Children’s Center and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at OHSU have partnered to sponsor a Healthy Starts Children’s Fair on Saturday, May 21st from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Don’t forget your teddy bear! Your child can learn firsthand the basics of a check-up at the Teddy Bear Check-up Station. Children will also have the opportunity to make their own healthy snack and learn about the benefits of exercise through a children’s yoga demonstration. In addition, there will be a nutritionist, pediatricians and other early childhood experts on hand to discuss your child’s health, from immunizations to personal hygiene. The Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Tom Sargent Safety Center will also provide bike helmet fittings and tips on how to childproof your home.

Located in the South Waterfront district, the Healthy Starts Children’s Center at OHSU provides high-quality child care and early education services to OHSU families and families within the community. The center houses one of the state’s largest convertible indoor-outdoor play spaces located at an early learning center, and is certified eco-healthy from the Oregon Environmental Council (OEC). The center is operated by CCLC, a leading provider of employer-sponsored child care and early childhood education.
