The reality faced by World War II vets returning home to America was far more complex than ticker-tape parades and the economic boom of the post-war years. These soldiers were at the center of the largest, most violent single event in human history. He Has Seen War examines the challenges American servicemen encountered as they reintegrated into civilian society—including a number of the real people portrayed in the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers and The Pacific—and suggests that perhaps the greatest accomplishment of the “Greatest Generation” came after the war was won. A Q&A with producer Kirk Saduski and director/producer Mark Herzog follows the screening.
