HDFEST New York event on the HDFEST 2006 World Tour will be taking place friday October 6th from 6pm-11pm at the Tribeca Screening Room at 375 Greenwich Street.

The festival screens films and animations which were created exclusively using HD technology. All festival content is screened using HD projection. Each year HDFEST holds touring festival events screening the best High-Definition independent film has to offer.

In addition to screening great indie films, the festival focuses on empowering independent filmmakers by spreading awareness of digital cinema moviemaking tools that can allow them to make visually professional and high resolution films on a lower budget. Digital filmmaking will be changing and enhancing the landscape of indie cinema more and more in the coming years.

Selections for HDFEST New York include multiple New York Premieres and World Premieres. Screening sequences include HD Comedy Shorts, HD Science Fiction Shorts from around the globe. The feature presentation is Mojave Phone Booth directed by John Putch and starring David Deluise, Annabeth Gish, and Steve Guttenberg.

Tickets are $10 for admission to HD shorts, and $12 for admission to the feature presentation Mojave Phone Booth. They can be purchased at the door the day of the event, or by visiting HDFEST's website www.hdfest.com. For more information call 321-206-5343.
