David Foster is one of the top young comedians working out of New York today. Effortlessly transitioning between opinionated and silly material as well, he amuses and surprises crowds of all demographics with a refreshingly original energy and perspective. Since entering the circuit in 2002 David has performed on HBO and Showtime and was a lead cast member as the character, “Sauce,” on MTV’s Boiling Points.

Growing up just outside New York City, as an adolescent David was consumed by hip hop culturally inspired interests such as graffiti, skateboarding, and a regular intake of marijuana. Despite making his younger brother and cousin laugh at home from a young age, he was too shy to be a “class clown” until college, where he discovered a passion for writing and performing in comedic sketches. Soon after starting their own variety show on Manhattan public access, David and his friends had a local fan following, and even attracted the attention of MTV executives. It was this experience coupled with a recommendation from a Film Writing professor that prompted him to enter the world of stand up.

In the summer of 2003, just two years after David began exploring open mics, HBO held a nationwide, open-call audition for P. Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy. Not only was David selected to appear on the show’s first season, he was one of ten asked to travel around the country promoting its premiere. His exceptional performance led to being cast on MTV and as one of the comics on Showtime’s Whiteboyz In The Hood. More recently David was asked by a New York production company to write a screenplay and Internet cartoon, and appeared in 2006 on Holland’s most popular late night talk show. He was a semi-finalist in the Boston Comedy Competition in 2008 and a finalist in the NY Competition in 2009.

Today David can be found headlining clubs and colleges all over the country, and instead of graffiti and marijuana has now focused his energy on practices such as martial arts and meditation. His range of abilities and original perspective look forward to great success, whether in stand-up, acting, writing, or all three.
