Harvest 2009 - Unwinding the Threads of Tradition - Part I. Curated by Suneet Chopra, there will be works by Stalwarts like Tyeb Mehta, M F Hussain, Seema Kohli, Sakti Barman, Jamini Roy etc on display.Harvest, the much awaited annual art affair put together by Payal Kapoor of Arushi Arts will be held this year from 30th July 12th August at The Stainless Gallery. This, being the tenth year of Harvest, is very special and so the gallery is putting together a cutting edge experimental art show that is based on Mumbai terror blasts. With participation from more than 80 artists from all over India, the HARVEST catalogue will be released simultaneously at 400 art museums, art institutions and galleries across the world on the opening day.Like previous year, this time too Harvest 2009 is divided into two parts. While Part I curated by eminent art critic Suneet Chopra will open on 30th July and showcase works by stalwarts.The participating artists in Part 1 are: Arpana Caur, KG Subramanyan, Somnath Hore, S H Raza, Akbar Padamsee, F N Souza , M F Husain, Sakti Burman, Jamini Roy, Seema kohli, Anjolie Ela Manon, Neeraj Goswami, Jaishri Burman, Sanjay Battacharya, Paresh Maity, Manish Pushkale, Kishore Shinde, S. Harshavardhan, Bhagat Singh, Ompal, Meena, Jean Wells, Maite Delte, Nicolaus, Shuva Prasanna, Shipra Bhattacharya, Shamshad Husain, Vinita Gupta, Chottu Lal, Namita Malik, Sheela Chamaria, Shiv Verma, Navjot Altaf, M J Enas, Reghu, Somnath C Benarjee, Bhupen Khaker, Bose Krishnamachari, Yogendre tripathi, Yugal sharma.This exhibition also salutes individuality, which has created change. Examples like Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and Mother Teresa, who have lead by example to bring a change around them.Harvest is an annual project of Arushi Arts that works towards projecting Indian Art is India & abroad. This is the tenth year of the catalogue. Gallery Arushi Arts has been holding Harvest exhibition every year since 2001 to promote Indian Art to discerning buyers at fair & correct prices. The exhibition and its catalogue is a platform for young upcoming artists to present their works along with senior established artists, giving the collector a chance to measure up the young in relation to the established.
