West 135th Street and Convent Avenue
Harlem, New York 10031

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary year, the Harlem Film Festival returns with new works-in-progress, family programs, probing documentaries and stories that resonate throughout our community. 2006 will mark our 3rd annual tribute to New York Women in Film and Television. As always, our audiences can look forward to ?up close and personal? dialogue with filmmakers.

Festival highlights will include:

Faces of Change, a full-length documentary by Michéle Stephenson which follows five activists from around the world documenting examples of racism and its impact in their individual communities.

Dressed Like Kings, a work-in-progress by Stacey Holman looks at a unique South African form of self-expression as township men try to win ?best dressed? competitions. The pageants are presented in stark contrast to the historical misrepresentation of South Africa?s rich and varied culture.
