Harding Gallery Grand Opening Reception October 25, 2012

The Harding Gallery, an intimate new gallery on Union Square, is hosting a Grand Opening Reception for it's inaugural exhibition: The Art of Julio Machado, Cuenca, Ecuador. In this first collection, owner Judith Harding and artist Julio Machado have worked together to curate a snapshot of Machado's vivacious artistic vision.

Machado, a multi-media artist hailing from Cuenca, Ecuador, is well known for both his painting and his metalwork, both in sculpture and jewelry making. The collection presented at the Harding Gallery includes representative pieces in these media, all of which resonate with a sense of joy in the vibrancy of life. Machado uses strong colors, deeply personal evocations of the natural world and cultural heritage, striking juxtapositions, and a playful self awareness to draw the viewer ever deeper into a world that is perhaps more than first meets the eye.
