Free NYC Dessert Fest is a free walking tour, centered solely on those succulent works of art; desserts. The purchases of any desserts are additional.

This is our second monthly tour of the city's neighborhood sweet spots. Today we’ll explore the Lower East Side, for a real New York treat, fresh rugelach, "little twists" in Yiddish, yeast dough rolled around chocolate, raisin, or fruit, plus gourmet doughnuts and hand-made chocolates.

To help support the good work of the non-profit City Harvest in its fight to feed the hungry, we ask that you make a $1.00 donation per person. 100% of all donations go to the charity, and we'll match the amount of all funds collected. If you’d like to donate online, please go to PayPal at; http://www.paypal.com and send your contribution in whatever amount you wish to; [email protected]

December’s inaugural tour brought out 20 dessert lovers and helped raise $36.00. Walking Tours Manhattan matched the funds raised for a total of $72.00, which went to Food Bank of New York City.

Meet our tour guide with the red ball cap saying Walking Tours Manhattan on Sunday January 4, at 2:30pm at Russ & Daughters, 179 East Houston Street, between Orchard and Allen Streets. Then it’s over to, Doughnut Plant, and our last stop we’ll be at Cocoa Bar. Tour lasts approximately 2 hours. Walking distance is 1 mile.
