The 'Lab' was originally founded in 2002 out of the design studio of its founders; artist Freddi Cerasoli and her husband Evan.  Freddi's studio gained the nickname 'Lab' while she was curating a series of art exhibitions entitled 'STREETWISE'.  'STREETWISE 1' featured over 30 of the most renowned 'urban' related artists including; Doze Green, Haze, Ryan McGinness, Evan Hecox, Rostarr, Dave Kinsey, David Ellis, WK Interact, Maya Hayuk, Rich Jacobs, Green Lady, Shepard Fairey, Stash and more

In 2003, after the successful 'STREETWISE 2' exhibition in Berlin, the 'Lab' was officially renamed; The Lab 101, and went on to host the Los Angeles segment of the tour in its new location in Santa Monica.  One year later, in early 2004, after Freddi and Evan outgrew having a gallery in their living room; The Lab 101 was relocated to the commercial location of 8530- B Washington Blvd. in Culver City.
 
This exhibition; 'Happy Endings' marks; the three years that the gallery has had its doors open to the public at this location, four years in existence as a static gallery, and six years operating in the art world.  It also marks the closing of our doors as The Lab 101 Gallery.  Thank you for all the great memories.
