Hanz Araki on flutes and vocals is the only 6th generation shakuhachi (traditional Japanese bamboo flute) player in the world. After mastering this unusual instrument he turned his focus to the Irish flute, penny-whistle and song. The transition was seamless and he has since earned tremendous respect in the Celtic music world. Araki has played all the major North American folk music festivals, as well as the Celtic Connections Music Festival in Glasgow, Scotland.
