Cake Shop - The most eclectic venue on ever-eclectic Rivington Street, Cake Shop may appear like just another hipster stop for $7 cupcakes, but venture further beyond the bakery storefront to check out the vintage record store in the back and the tiny subterranean bar underneath. Live bands take the stage seven nights a week, with the occasional break for DJ sets, indie film screenings and literary reading nights. The no-BS atmosphere at Cake Shop brings in a younger and more laid-back crowd than most of its Lower East Side neighbors.
