Halloween at Chawton House October 31, 2008

To mark the day of the year when spooks and spirits are supposed to be at their most active, Chawton House is staging Halloween events for both adults and children. Pumpkin Hunt, craft activities and apple snagging in the Old Kitchen. Fancy dress is optional and price includes a specially tailored tour of the house. Children must be accompanied but there is no charge for the adults with them.
For adults and older children brave enough to visit Chawton House after dark, there's an evening event from 6.30pm-8.30pm. Readings from a Gothic novel will be followed by a guided tour of the house during which visitors will hear about strange occurrences and see rooms not usually open to the public. The ticket price is £10 including pumpkin soup and drinks. Advance booking is essential for both events.
