The Hallockville Museum Farm will be holding its 26th Annual Fall Festival on September 30th and October 1st. Unlike past years, this year’s gala event will run an entire weekend – mostly in an effort to accommodate the growing number of visitors who come out to experience this unique look into traditional 1800s North Fork farm life.

The Festival will feature over 50 local craftspeople displaying their handmade folk art along with demonstrations of wool spinning, weaving, and woodcarving. Other crowd-pleasing activities include an antique tractor pull, hayrides, pony rides, food, music, and an old-fashioned storyteller. And, this year, for the first time ever, Martha Clara Vineyards, Waters Crest Winery and Roanoke Vineyards will be selling their award-winning wines by the glass and bottle. Festival hours are 10-5 each day. Admission for the weekend is $7 for adults, $5 for children and seniors. A family pass will be available for $18.

Hallockville Museum Farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. It consists of 28 acres of farmland, three residences and two barns dating back to the 1800s, and numerous outbuildings. Located at 6038 Sound Avenue in Riverhead, the facility is open Tuesday to Saturday 11:00 to 4:00 and Sunday from Noon to 3:00. Guided tours of the property are available for $7.00 for adults, $4.00 for children and seniors. Children under 6 are admitted free. Visitors are welcome to walk around the farm at no charge. Programs are supported in part by Suffolk County under the auspices of the Office of Cultural Affairs. Contact Michelle Zaloom at 631-298-5292 for more information.
