Haiti On My Mind has been organized by the local group, Haitians and Friends of Haiti of Louisiana, and will display artwork in traditional, folk, and contemporary arts and crafts, plus photography. One of the artist participants is the collaborative charitable effort of Images Without Borders- www.imageswithoutborders.org.

The entire Haiti On My Mind exhibit will stay on view throughout the week of January 8-16, 2011. There will be a Grand Opening on January 8 (6-9pm) featuring a Vodou altar and ceremony to Damballah by Sallie Ann Glassman of La Source Ancienne Ounfó.

On January 12 (6-9pm), there will be a Special Program with musical performance and sing-a-long led by Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes and his Roots Band and patrons are welcome to enjoy Haitian cuisine. A portion of the sales will be donated to various charities for Haiti. The address is, 2820 St. Claude Ave. (and Press St.), in the St. Claude Art District, New Orleans, Louisiana.
