Haight Ashbury Clean Up Day July 29, 2006

Dear Community Members:

The Alvord Lake Task Force, in particular Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi's Office and Safety Network, are in the process of organizing a community clean-up day for the Haight-Ashbury and Golden Gate Park community. The community clean-up is a project that will bring all community members together to work in partnership to complete community improvement projects. Homeowners, renters, merchants, community-based organizations and the homeless community will work together for several hours on Saturday, July 29th to improve our community. The Haight Ashbury Community Clean Up will be held Saturday, July 29th from 9am - 12pm.

In order for the Haight Ashbury Clean Up to be successful, we must have at least 60 volunteers to participate in this community event. You can participate in the Clean Up Day by volunteering for one of the six projects listed below. Each project will be supported by a Team Leader and members of DPW, SFPD, Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services, the Office of Supervisor Mirkarimi or by one of our community-based organizations. In order to ensure that we meet our needed goal of 60 volunteers, we are requesting that you register to volunteer by contacting Regina Dick-Endrizzi, Aide for Supervisor Mirkarimi, [email protected] or 415-554-6783. Please register to volunteer so that the Clean Up Day can be as effectively and efficiently organized as possible.

Please remember, the Haight Ashbury Clean Up Day is not only an opportunity to participate in the beautification of our neighborhood. July 29th, is also an opportunity to meet community members while either sipping coffee before the Clean Up or during the BBQ that will be held at the conclusion of the day. Yes, coffee will be provided to get you ready to work and a BBQ will be held to celebrate the day!
