With two acoustic guitars, bongos and vibrant vocal harmonies, Boston trio, Guster, has become one of the most successful independent bands in the country, consistently selling out wherever they play. Ray LaMontagne, a French-Canadian, made his musical presence known around Boston in the '60s heading up the house band at the famous blues club, Joe's Place. Blues musicians often traveled alone and used pickup-, or house-bands for their concerts, so Lamontagne enjoyed a rich sampling of blues history from players like Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Hound Dog Taylor, and others.
