Dinner and social hour is 6-7 pm. The program begins at 7 pm.

Our speaker, Gustavo Arellano, is an award winning staff writer with the OC Weekly, a contributing writer to the Op/Ed section of the L A Times and essayist for NPR. His “Ask a Mexican” book, published in 2007, was based on his syndicated column of the same name.

Arellano's most recent book, "Orange County, a Personal History," tells the story of his own family's assimilation into Orange County-style American culture amid racism, megachurches, and master-planned communities. We hope you'll join us for what promises to be an entertaining, thoughtful, and educational presentation.

Our venue requires advance reservations, so you must RSVP by January 11 if you want to enjoy the buffet. The meal, which includes salad, a choice of main dishes, beverage, and a piece of Marie's famous pie, is $20 including tax and tip.

There is a nominal charge for those who do not purchase the buffet: $3 for members and $5 for non-members.
