Your journey will take you from Wigpool where Romans mined for iron ore, then over the famous geological feature, the Hope Mansell Dome, down to the riverside woods frequented by Henry. You will return via Ruardean with its magnificient views and on the way discover the grisly true story of who killed the bears before finishing back at Wigpool.

Location: Wigpool near Mitcheldean
Distance: 11 miles (17.6 Km)
Grade: Moderate. There are some steady climbs on this route as you come out of the Wye valley, but all the paths are good.
