Grievous Angel will perform a live concert to benefit the Dawn Farm Community of Programs at the Dawn Farm Community Barn on July 31, 2009; 8:00 pm. This event provides an awesome opportunity to have a great time, hear great music AND support a great cause! Grievous Angel entertains audiences with their own unique, rollicking brand of American roots music. Revving up at the crossroads where folk, rockabilly, blues, and alt-country were born, they rumble across the length and breadth of American music. Pastoral folk excursions, cosmic jamming, retro rock and roadhouse boogie spill over into a sound that’s pure joy, with soaring harmonies and turn on a dime musicianship. Grievous Angel includes Billy Brandt (guitar, vocals;) Nolan Mendenhall (bass and vocals;) Roscoe White (electric and acoustic guitar;) and Todd Glass (drums.) The Detroit Music Awards have honored the band with awards for “outstanding folk group” and “outstanding acoustic group;” guitarist Billy Brandt also received an “outstanding instrumentalist” honor. "A joyous Americana mix" – this will be a performance that should not be missed! The cost is only $10.00 per person. All proceeds from this concert will help Dawn Farm fulfill our core mission to provide services to clients regardless of ability to pay. Dawn Farm provides a continuum of quality services to assist addicts and alcoholics to achieve long term recovery, and often provides a last hope for young addicts and alcoholics who have run out of options.
