The surreal photographs of Gregory Crewdson?s are carefully constructed, much like sets for a film - a single photograph might employ the work of a 35-person crew and take up to one month to produce. In his recent series of Twilight images, the subject matter has become increasingly dark, penetrating the psychological disquiet at the heart of the American family. Crewdson was featured in the Guggenheim's Moving Pictures exhibition, and is currently developing a film commissioned by the Whitney Museum of American Art. Free
