Berklee Greenway Sessions continues with a free concert by pop country, Spanish pop, and r&b-influenced vocalist Sharin Toribio on Friday, July 27, at 6:00 p.m. on Milk Street at Atlantic Avenue. Berklee Greenway Sessions artists join local food trucks like Grilled Cheese Nation and Beantown Franks ā€˜nā€™ Spuds for free entertainment every Friday evening through August 24. Berklee Greenway Sessions is a part of Berklee Summer in the City presented by Natixis Global Asset Management. For more information on Berklee concerts in neighborhoods all over Boston this summer, visit berklee.edu/events/summer.
Currently a student at Berklee, Toribio is proud to have worked with artists and producers such as Eddie Perez (Paulina Rubio, JoJo, Hector "El Father," Wisin y Yandel), Jean Rodriguez, Toby Love, and Obie Bermudez. Her strong musical influences lie in the beautiful raw messages of pop country music, Spanish pop ballads, and R&B, and her greatest vocal icons are Gary LeVox, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Lauryn Hill, Luis Miguel, Juan Luis Guerra, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, and many more. In the summer of 2011, Toribio was part of Berklee's Songwriter Tour in cities throughout Spain. In December 2011, she released her EP Quiero which contains all original content.
She hopes to touch people of every ethnicity through the spiritual language of music and be a symbol of trueness, positivity, and survival.
