The Dean Forest Railway (DFR) is holding a Great Western Branchline Gala over the weekend of June 30th and July 1st. There will be three ex Great Western locomotives working an intensive timetable between Lydney Junction and Parkend in the Forest of Dean. There is ample free parking at Norchard (just north of Lydney - look for the brown tourist signs), and there are a buffet, toilets, a very interseting museum and well stocked shop. Prices for all day rover tickets are £13 Adult, £12 Senior,£6 Child and £36 Family (2A + 2 Ch). Discounts on these fares are available to Armed Forces personnel and Veterans producing valid Identity Cards, HM Armed Forces Veterans Badges or UK Merchant Seafarers Veterans Badges.
