"Great Houses of the South" Author Talk and Book Signing September 29, 2010

Dr. Laurie Ossman will discuss and sign Great Houses of the South (Rizzoli, 2010), a stunning compilation of newly photographed mansions that span three centuries, including Richmond’s own Maymont Mansion and the Wickham House at the Valentine Richmond History Center. From Greek Revival plantations to neo-classical Federal era mansions to Gilded Age estates,
Dr. Ossman’s lavishly illustrated book reveals the comprehensive scope and grandeur of Southern architecture. Dr. Ossman has served as the Deputy Director of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Chief Curator at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach and Curator of Ca d’Zan in Sarasota, Florida. She is now Director of the National Trust’s Woodlawn Plantation. The program is presented by the Maymont Foundation and the Valentine Richmond History Center.
