Great Backyard Bird Count February 13, 2010

Great Back Yard Bird Count Feb. 13 10am Are you interested in learning how to identify birds? Do you enjoy watching the birds? If you have any interest in birding and would like to learn more about birds come join McKeever Environmental Learning Center for the Great Backyard Bird Count. For the past thirteen years, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society have been reaching out to the communities, looking for citizen scientists. This year you can become one! On February 13 McKeever staff will meet anyone interested in helping out with the Great Backyard Bird Count in front of the dining hall. From here, you will be hiking to various birding stops around the center. By recording what bird species are found at each stop, you can be helping scientists learn more about the winter bird populations. At the end of the program we will be heading to the dining hall for some hot drinks and to discuss what species were seen. Come dressed for the weather and wear sturdy footwear.
