Grant Park Music Festival: Sibelius' Second Symphony July 9, 2010

The Great Finnish composer’s heroic symphony, which became something of a symbol of Finland’s yearning for independence from Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, is interpreted by Chinese-American conductor Xiang Zhang, making her Festival debut. 

Sibelius' Symphony No. 2; Orchestral Suite from Prokiev's The Love for Three Oranges; and Chen-Yi's Antiphony.
