Grand Opening - Museum of Craft and Design April 6, 2013

Community celebration of the new museum and inaugural exhibitions!

The Museum of Craft and Design will open the doors to their new permanent home on April 6, 2013. The Museum's inaugural exhibition, Michael Cooper: A Sculptural Odyssey, 1968 - 2011, was organized over several years and is the Museum's first travelling exhibition. Complementing the Michael Cooper exhibition, the Museum will showcase two inaugural installation exhibitions in the Museum's main gallery. Arline Fisch: Creatures From the Deep, a travelling exhibition from the Racine Art Museum in Wisconsin and Rebecca Hutchinson: Affinity an on-site artist installation. The Museum of Craft and Design (MCD) presents unique, engaging exhibitions and programs that creatively explore and shape the role of craft and design in everyday life.
