GRAND NATIONALS

San Francisco's Grand Nationals are here to make a big, beautiful racket. We draw on the full wellspring of American music to tell tall tales that ring true and make a big, joyful noise that's full of soul.

Wholesome goodness, high nutritional content, always fresh, part of a balanced diet--they all come to mind when describing our 4-to-7 minute musical excursions. We’re a nice helping of rock and roll, but there’s also a sprinkle of blues, dash of old soul, smidge of honky tonk, pinch of reggae and some other flavors mixed in, too. Generally, we strive to write music that sounds good and lyrics that don't sound stupid. We don’t necessarily want to make you think, but we do want to make you feel good.

Please see for yourself. We go great with your beverage of choice at any one of San Francisco's many fine musical venues. In the last two years, we’ve made sounds at Café Du Nord, El Rio, Hotel Utah, Grant & Green, Pier 23, Red Devil Lounge, and more.

We don’t feel old, but we're not new. Grand National came together in the Summer of 2009, but traces its roots back some 20 years through all kinds of bands, including Sauce, Toast, West of Five, Bonafide, In Like Flynn, Tebucky Jones, Varmints, Bill Meyer Band, Evergreene, and others.
UNCLE FRANK AND THE CO-DEFENDANTS

Uncle Frank & the Co-Defendants is an americana, rock n’roll, spoken word outfit that feature the words and wit of Unclee Frank Lauria.

Uncle Frank spins modern parables with humor, biting satire and sprinklings of pop-culture references that are true to his beatnik roots. In the late 1950‘s Uncle Frank read poetry in Greenwich Village and uptown at the Seven Arts Coffee Shop with the
likes of Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and Gregory Corso. Frank credits Kerouac with teaching him how to sleep on a bus (you curl up and wedge your feet against the arm rest). A best selling author of the Dr. Orient series of fiction, Frank has travelled the world hanging with Paul Bowles in Tangier, William Burroughs, Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithful in New York, and Tom Waits in Jamaica.

The Co-Defendants are: Jerry Boxley and Dudley Hughes
trading off on guitar, bass and background vocals. Will Morris is on drums. Chris von Sneidern on guitar and vocals gives the Co-Defendants a rock n’ roll swagger. Over the summer, Uncle Frank & the Co-Defendants recorded their first, full length album at Chris von Sneidern’s studio at Hyde Street. A CD release party will be held on November 19, 2011 at the Hotel Utah Saloon in San Francisco.

GOOD LUCK JIMMY

Good Luck Jimmy is an Americana-power-pop trio. An all original band with melodic hooks and vocal harmonies, Good Luck Jimmy is comprised of three members with years of experience in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene.

Singer-songwriters Dudley Hughes and Jerry Boxley, most recently with the band Blue Limbo, hooked up with power-popper Chris Von Sneidern in the summer of 2007 and produced an eight song EP.

Good Luck Jimmy is picking up where Blue Limbo left off. Boxley and Hughes brought drummer Will Morris into the fold. Morris’ pop sensibilities, humor, and his eagerness to rock have been a welcome addition to the band.

Boxley, a former touring bassist with both John Wesley Harding and Chris von Sneidern, previously fronted the band "It's all about Jerry!". Their eponymous debut was produced by Chris von Sneidern, and the catchy, indie sound won a national songwriting contest earning Jerry Boxley a songwriting deal with Universal Music.

Hughes spent ten years with the San Francisco band, The Glow, playing Bay Area stages ranging from the Bottom of The Hill, Blakes, and The Hotel Utah Saloon.

Good Luck Jimmy is currently working on their first album.
