SALSAMBÓ began as a project to deliver the hard Salsa (salsa dura) and Latin Jazz back into the scene in November of 2006. The band director, Gilbert Roman (who also directed Conquista Musical of Sacramento for many years) embarked upon this project using many talented musicians from the Sacramento and outlying areas.
