Graham Mort's short story collection, Touch (Seren 2010), has been widely praised for its powerful visual style and dramatic storytelling, in settings ranging from the snowbound dales of northern England to the heat of Africa.  Best known as an award-winning poet, he is also a radio dramatist, and has played an important part in the development of creative writing, running workshops in schools, prisons and psychiatric units, before taking up his present post at Lancaster University.   A specialist in distance learning, he leads the Lancaster University/British Council African writers mentoring scheme, 'Crossing Borders'.   Tonight's reading also marks the launch of a new international journal, Short Fiction in Theory and Practice, edited by Ailsa Cox and published by Intellect Press.

The evening is hosted by the creative writing programme at Edge Hill.  If you would like to know more about our courses, please contact the Enquiries Unit on 0800 195 5063.
