Graham Greenes connection with cinema began in a professional way when he became a film critic for The Spectator in the mid-1930s, and he had a lifelong interest in cinema. Many of his novels were adapted into films, some of them twice (Brighton Rock, The End of the Affair, The Quiet American), as well as some of his short stories, and he wrote original screenplays as well.
