Some of you out there remember something called "Gracie's Sunday Brunch" that happened here in Portland, oh, about five years ago. Some of you may have even attended one of these great social food events. Some of you may have even lamented its demise about four years ago, due to developments outside of control.
Well, some Gracie's operatives have been getting the itch to bring it back. And through careful scientific research and various missions out into the bush, we've figured that the Hawthorne Hostel may just be the place to do it.
and this means...SUNDAY BRUNCH IS HAPPENING AGAIN!
Come one, come all, to the Gracies Sunday Brunch!
This Sunday, and every Sunday until someone says it's done, come to the Hawthorne Hostel from about 10:30am (when food prep shall begin) to 2pm to enjoy a potluck brunch. Please bring dishes that you have prepared, if possible. Or take a chance and make something with the ingredients on hand! Can't cook? Help set up and/or clean up instead!
What should you bring? GOOD FOOD! and beverages! (sorry, no alcohol whatsoever at the Hostel, it's the rules) and maybe decent coffee. Vegetarians and vegans welcome!
or more importantly, WHAT SHOULDN'T I BRING! The hostel has an envious supply of non-vegan pancake mix (and a wafflin' iron, but feel free to bring extra) so pancakes, waffles, and biscuits/gravy can be made (though of course fruit for pan/waffs is good) Also, bread and bagels are bountiful here.
If you are on your way to the Hostel and are still not sure (or if you think we need something from the store) give us a ring at 503.236.3380
So I hope to see some of you here. If you can't make it this week, you can come next week. Or the week after. Or the week after that. Or...
And special entertainment is always welcome!
Once again, it's at the Hawthorne Hostel, 3031 SE Hawthorne Blvd. 503.236.3380 http://portlandhostel.org On the #14/Hawthorne bus line!
