GOING TO THE CHAPEL Jon Arterton & James Mack Singing for Justice and Joy April 23, 2010

The Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington, D.C. (LGCW) and Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) will present Jon Arterton & James Mack – Legally Married in Massachusetts in 2005 and the Sky Didn’t Fall in three performances, Friday, April 23, 2010, 8 PM, and Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 3:00 and 7:30 PM at CHAW, 545 7th Street, SE, a short distance from the Eastern Market metro. The musical revue about love and same-sex marriage will also include musical selections from the LGCW and its affiliated ensemble Not What You Think. It provides an intimate look at the profound positive effect of the right of same gender couples to express their love and commitment though civil marriage.

In the musical revue, which has brought audiences to tears and to their feet, singers Jon Arterton and James Mack present a witty and poignant look at relationships, politics, the Bible, and the issue of same sex marriage in America. Jon Arterton was once a high school teacher and the founder of the extremely popular and proudly gay a cappella group The Flirtations. He now conducts The Outer Cape Chorale, Provincetown’s 120-voice community chorus. James Mack was once a licensed Southern Baptist minister and a men’s fashion executive in New York City. He now owns Snug Cottage, an early 19th century bed-and-breakfast in Provincetown.
