The Global Emerging Markets Summit (GEMS) was conceptualised as a means to provide a forum and thought-leadership platform on emerging markets. GEMS differentiates itself from other such forums as it is conducted by people who operate in these emerging markets and therefore know them well.

Since the debut of GEMS in London, 2008, we have featured high-profile international speakers addressing thought-provoking, globally relevant topics of interests. Our multinational debate continues at GEMS 2010, to be convened in Berlin, Germany – the gateway to the emerging markets of Eastern Europe – on Wednesday, 6th October 2010.

GEMS 2010 will present a group of notable speakers who will address and discuss issues pertinent to their individual fields, set around the theme ‘Redefining Economic Recovery: An Emerging Market Perspective’. This year’s theme is in support of the view that emerging markets (for example, China, India and the ASEAN countries) will lead the way for the impending economic recovery. GEMS 2010 intends to provide valuable insights on how to form partnerships and capitalise on the opportunities offered by these emerging markets for mutual growth.

We are finalising a programme that will address concerns relevant to players in emerging as well as developed economies, inclusive of the following topics:

§ Redefining Economic Recovery: An Emerging Market Perspective
§ Lessons Learnt from the Financial Tsunami
§ Aligning Regional Agendas – The Way Forward for ASEAN & the EU
§ The Rise of China & India in the World Economic Order – 2020 or Earlier?
§ The World of Islamic Business & Banking

The GEMS Secretariat invites you to understand and explore the exciting opportunities available in the emerging markets as well as to join the on-going debate, at GEMS 2010 in Berlin.
