Just in time to go back to school, Sweet and Nasty Burlesque presents a survey of great boobs and great books with GLITTERATURE 101. On Monday, September 21, the sexiest bookworms this side of the Library of Congress will strip in honor of classic literature, presenting burlesque tributes to the hottest summer reading list ever. This extra-curricular extravaganza will feature new works and breast-sellers that even the Dewey Decimal System can't contain.

"Sure, we'll discuss symbolism, redemption, the complex interplay of theme and relationship - all that Oprah crap," explains host, producer and Professor Emeritus Nasty Canasta. "But as burlesque stars we have a unique perspective on literature: Did Jane Eyre know how to twirl tassels? Was Hemingway's fixation on bullfighting really an unexpressed yearning to 'take it off?' Wouldn't Johnny Tremain have been a much better book with a couple of burlesque numbers in the middle?"

Since 2006, Sweet and Nasty has been adding its own unique mix of glam camp, historical fact, and blatant lies to the New York burlesque scene, and currently appears monthly at Public Assembly in Williamsburg.  Their September spectacular, GLITTERATURE 101, is the centerpiece of a jam-packed night of couple-friendly, risqué entertainment that will begin with go-go by Victoria Privates at 9:30 pm, and continue into Tuesday morning with tunes from DJ Broadway Brassy.

This isn't your mother's book club! Local favorites Darlinda Just Darlinda, Jonny Porkpie, Lefty Lucy, Ruby Valentine, Sapphire Jones, special guest Lux La Croix (LA) and your erudite host Nasty Canasta discuss the finer points of literature at GLITTERATURE 101.
