Girls on the Run Sierras - 5K Fun Run/Walk June 6, 2010

Come run, walk, or volunteer for our fun-filled 5K!

Everyone is invited to this community-wide event, supporting healthy activities and education for girls and sponsored by New Balance.

Join us for a fabulous morning of music, activities, a raffle, and lunch.

$20 Race Pre-Registration ($25 day-of-event) includes a t-shirt and goodie bag. Non-race attendees are invited to enjoy other activities free of charge.

Girls on the Run International is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. The Sierras council serves girls 3rd - 8th grade in the Tahoe/Reno area. We combine training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running race with healthy living education. Our programs instill self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training - all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff, and the community. www.girlsontherunsierras.org
