Girl Authority is a pop girl group from Massachusetts that consists of nine girls, ranging in age from 11 to 16. The group was established in 2005 by Samantha Hammel, the group's vocal coach/executive producer; Scott Billington, a Grammy-winning producer; and John Virant, CEO of Rounder Records.

Girl Authority has often been compared to Kidz Bop, as they also perform popular songs of other artists. They have also been called a G-rated version of the Spice Girls.

Each girl has a distinct personality: "Country Girl" Crystal, "Party Girl" Kate, "Rock 'n' Roll Girl" Tarr, "Urban Girl" Gina, "Fashion Girl" Alex, "Preppy Girl" Zoƫ, "Boho Girl" Jess, "All-Star Girl" Jacqueline, and "Glamour Girl" Carly. All attended musical theater together for five years before joining the group, and have acted in local theater throughout greater Boston.

The group has appeared on CBS's The Early Show and signed a deal with PorchLight Entertainment for a television series, specials, website, direct-to-video programming, merchandising, and an original book series.
