“Giri Kusuma” Pomona College Balinese Gamelan May 3, 2010

Nyoman Wenten, music director and Nanik Wenten, dance director, lead these two popular ensembles in a program of music and dance of Bali. This concert features the Baris masked dance, the Puspawresti dance (with 20 student dancers), and a new piece composed for Nyoman Wenten and mime performer YT. The new composition tells the story of the god Shiva and his son Semara, and how love came to be spread throughout the world.
