September is here and we are looking forward to seeing the New Yorkers back in town. Join us as Church continues with world-renowned DJ, producer, remixer, composer, musician, and Tru Thoughts recording artist Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL), alongside Nate Smith (José James/Dave Holland)on drums and Mark Kelley (The Roots) on bass.

This edition of CHURCH features a special appearance by Jean Grae on vocals. South African-born and NYC-raised, Grae has been a fixture on the hip hop scene since the mid-90’s, and has recorded with the likes of The Roots, Talib Kweli, Masta Ace, The Herbalizer and Dego (4hero). Born into the jazz tradition—her parents are Abdullah Ibrahim and Sathima Bea Benjamin—Grae is respected not just for her vocal skills, but also her production and songwriting. She is the ultimate renaissance artist. Rounding out the lineup is DJ Chris Annibell, who has been a fixture on the soul, house and world dance scenes in NYC for well over a decade. An early contributor to Turntables on the Hudson, Annibell is the founder and resident DJ of Afrokinetic and Carmina Soul, and has shared the stage with the likes of Gilles Peterson, King Britt, Nickodemus, Rich Medina, DJ Spinna, Mark Farina, Soul Live, Tony Touch and Tortured Soul, among many others.
