Composed by Giacomo Puccini. Buoso Donati has died and rumor leaks out that he has left all his money to the monks. However, his family is determined to find the will before the lawyer does. When they discover it, Gianni Schicchi offers to help them. He poses as the dying Buoso and rewrites the will. He gives all the family members a little something, but keeps the majority of the wealth for himself. However, when the relatives discover what has happened, they take all they can get from the house and flee, leaving Gianni alone. Performed in Italian with English supertitles.
