Imagine sitting through 50 plays in one night. On Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14, 2008 at 8:00 p.m., that’s exactly what you can do when Brooklyn College’s Department of Theater will host GI60 (Gone in 60 Seconds), a theatrical experience featuring 50 plays—all 60 seconds in length.

Diverse, fast-paced, sad, funny, thought-provoking, the scripts, written by students, early career playwrights and published playwrights, will be brought to life by a cast of Brooklyn College Theater BFA and MFA students, Brooklyn College alumni, and professional guest artists. Three current Brooklyn College students—Rosa Fernandez (A Doll’s House (Continued)), Christian Marte (Crocodile Hunter), and Jose A. Rivera (ID Please) will have their plays featured at the festival. Jennifer Provenza, a recent MFA graduate, will have her play featured as well. The acting company comprises 15 actors and two directors with each actor performing in nearly a dozen plays with minimal set and costume design.
Admission is $7. Call 718-951-5000 ext. 2768 for reservations. For more information, call 718-951-5000 ext. 2768 or visit www.screamingmediaproductions.net. All plays will be filmed and available for viewing on the Screaming Media Productions web site (www.screamingmediaproductions.net).

Proceeds will benefit the GI60 Harrogate Theatre Brooklyn College Collaboration Award, a scholarship given to a deserving undergraduate who embodies the spirit of collaboration.
