WWII BOOK WILL BE BROUGHT TO LIFE AT PENDLETON COMMUNITY PUBLIC LIBRARY

The riveting book, Ghost Mountain Boys by Jim Campbell, tells the story of the epic march and terrifying battle for New Guinea during WWII. Next year, PBS and the History Channel will each present a war documentary featuring this gut-wrenching saga of young, unequipped soldiers bravely fighting and dying in the jungle.

PCL is honored to host Bill and Joyce Boise, Noblesville, on Saturday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. in the Community Room at the library, 595 East Water Street for a discussion of the book. Anderson and Noblesville residents will particularly enjoy this program because the book includes information about Bill’s father, Captain William “Jim” Boise, who received the Distinguished Service Cross and a Purple Heart for leading his troops across the Owen Stanley Mountain Range during the battle. He filmed over twenty hours of video during the trek.

The program is free and open to the public. RSVPs are appreciated. Call the library at (765) 778-7527 or email [email protected]
