Getting Published Writing Workshop February 3, 2009

Book By Authors is announcing free writing workshops to the public including this Getting Published Workshop at the Los Altos Library.

The workshops are in collaboration with "Book By Authors: The North Long Beach Anthology." This book is a compilation of 50 written works and 50 illustrations about North Long Beach. The collection will be published in May 2009 as a Connected Corridor Project and proceeds will benefit the Fairfield YMCA.

The writing workshops will help educate writers about North Long Beach and aid in creating works for the collection.

The Getting Published Workshop will feature Anne Margis and Allene Symons, President and Vice President of the Long Beach Chapter of the California Writer's Club. Symons is also a Long Beach writer and journalist. Symons work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Details Magazine, New West Magazine and H Magazine. She is also the author of Vagabond Prophet and Adventures Abroad.

The workshop is free and open to the general public.

Book By Authors will hold an additional workshop on Poetry on Saturday, February 7. The event will take place from 2 P.M. - 3:30 P.M. at Chiltepe Restaurant, 5631 Atlantic Ave in Long Beach. Mike Sonksen, aka Mike the Poet, will be the guest lecturer at the workshop.
