Staff at Grayshott Pottery are offering their customers the opportunity to get their hands dirty this Summer and to create something ‘on the wheel’.
The Pottery, that can create up to 2000 items a day and regularly makes for the High Street restaurant trade, still practise the art of hand throwing on a day to day basis. Hand throwing is used frequently for the more unusual shapes and of course for the Studio Art Pottery which is sought after by collectors and Galleries all over the UK.
On Saturday 15th August from 12 noon, Phil Wareham will be demonstrating the art of ‘hand throwing’ and will then hand the wheel over to willing participants! Just come along and take part.
Chris Greenaway, Grayshott Pottery Sales Director, said, ‘We regularly offer customers the chance to ‘throw a pot’ during local events and festivals etc, but are now wondering if we can offer this as a regular event at the Pottery. I hope our customers will support this initiative and if they don’t want to have a go themselves, will come and watch their friends take part!’
