SCOTT DAVIS

Scott Davis
General Sessions Speaker

For the past twenty years, Scott Davis has been in full time ministry doing music and comedy concerts all over the world and speaking to students in Christian and Public Schools alike. As a highly sought after youth speaker, Scott combines comedy and straight forward messages from God's Word to hit students where they live.

Having grown up in a Christian home and attending a Christian School himself, Scott knows where Christian School students are and where they are headed. He knows how many can "put on" Christian like a coat around the right people and take it off around others. He knows some of the most hard to reach youth are Christian School students, for they've heard it all.

This is where Scott makes the difference. Through his comedy and speaking, he can penetrate the facade many students have.

Scott is a graduate of Liberty University with a major in Cross-cultural studies. He has appeared on numerous television variety and talk shows. Many know Scott through his best friend, comedian Mark Lowry. Scott has been on the majority of his videos and Mark is on all of Scott's.

Having ministered throughout the U.S. and in over thirteen foreign countries, Scott knows the student culture. He has ministered with many other well-known speakers such as Jerry Falwell, Charles Stanley, John McArthur, Dennis Swanberg, Bailey Smith, and the list goes on.

Mark is probably best known as the lead singer and songwriter of the Grammy Award winning band, Casting Crowns. However, long before that, he was a youth pastor with a heart for students. He still serves as youth pastor at Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough, GA. Having spoken to thousands of students across the nation with his down to earth, straight-forward, humorous approach, he connects with Christian School Students like no other. Notwavering from the main theme of knowing Christ and being a truedisciple of Christ, students at the Get Real Conferences leave knowing what it means to be a true follower of Jesus!

Speaking to Christian School Students in many Get Real Conference general sessions and Senior High sessions, Markdemonstrates how to be REAL with God.

BILLY LORD

Billy Lord
Conference Worship Leader and Concert Artist

Because Billy's father was a professional football coach, Billys family moved from Chicago, Illinois to Winston Salem, North Carolina to Greensboro, North Carolina to Boone, North Carolina to Amherst, Massachusetts to Green Bay, Wisconsin to Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. Out of necessity, he learned to adapt to new situations.

As might be expected, Billy had a great interest in athletics - especially football! In high school he was cocaptain of both the football and gymnastics teams. He earned a football scholarship to Liberty University and went on to become an NAIA academic All-American. He graduated magna cum laude in 1983 with a degree in business administration.

Billys musical talents became apparent at an early age. He loved singing with the family when his mom played the piano at home. By age 13, Billy began playing the guitar. Soon he was singing for his church and youth group. Shortly after he began playing the guitar, Billy tried his hand at writing music. While living in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he won a national song writing contest sponsored by the Baptist General Conference. Billy continued his musical development while in college. He often sang in chapel and was heavily involved in the Men of Armor - an outreach program of the football team. The Men of Armor would go to public high schools and perform weight lifting demonstrations. After the demonstration, Billy would sing and others would share their testimonies.

Since 1983, Billy has had the opportunity to sing for thousands of people throughout the United States. While he has worked primarily with high school students, Billy's music reaches a wide range of people. He has shared the stage with such speakers as Tony Campolo, Josh McDowell, Buster Soaries, Barry St. Clair and Andy Stanley. He has also appeared with other musicians such as Geoff Moore and the Distance, Truth, Jerome Olds, and Mark Lowry. Billys unique blend of original music, along with his ability to lead praise and worship, has made him a favorite with many youth ministries throughout the country. Depending on the occasion, Billy appears either by himself or with his band.

TIM DOWDY

Dr. Timothy Dowdy
Teacher's Session Leader

Dr. Tim Dowdy pastors what many call a "mega-church" in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Yet he is a man that is "real" with a true love for people. He is also the Chancellor of Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, one of the largest Christian Schools in the state. Having received his Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University in 1983, his Master's Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1985, and then his Doctorate degree in 1991, he is well qualified to lead many of the Teacher's Sessions. However, those degrees pale in comparison to his burden to see others take their "job" and realize that it is a ministry. This is Tim's goal as he leads many of the Teacher's Sessions... to instill in each faculty and staff member practical principles on ministering to their students on a daily basis.

REAGAN FARRIS

Reagan Farris
General Session Speaker

Reagan Farris is a student pastor at Eagles Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough, GA and also serves as a creator and writer for JumpStartResources.com. JumpStartResources is a free resource ministry division of Global Youth Ministry. Reagan brings a dynamic testimony of what God can do through the ordinary life of a teenager who lives completely surrendered and devoted to Jesus Christ.

His passion is to connect the simple truth of Gods word to the complicated lives of students. His greatest desire is to see students understand the level of intimacy God desires to have with them and to see them chase after Him with their whole heart. When a student begins to nurture their OWN relationship with Jesus, the overflow of that will be an ordinary life turned extraordinary. They won't be able to keep from sharing their faith, influencing a confused and dark culture, and living with standards and convictions not because they are suppose to or its the Christian Rules, but because they will desire nothing more than to make their Lord smile with their lives, friendships, relationships, and decisions.

They will want to know Gods Word and live it! They will be in love! They will be a true disciple!

MARK SHELLEY

Mark Shelley
General Session Speaker

Mark Shelley has been sharing and communicating the life changing Message of Jesus Christ for the past twelve years. Mark has a passion to see students truly connect with the life changing Love of Jesus Christ. He does this to step into the lives of the students, addressing their REAL needs and providing true hope to critical situations they face now! Bring your students and join Mark in making an impact for the Kingdom of Christ one life at a time.

While at Green Bay, he shared an office and developed a friendship with Bill Curry. TIM HAWKINS

Tim Hawkins
Comedian

Tim Hawkins has been accused of being equally gifted and twisted. Whatever your take, he has indeed become one of the most in-demand comics in the country. His arsenal is unique: high energy stand-up, physical comedy, sick guitar skills, a thousand faces and voices, improvisational chops. It all combines to create an insane comedy experience. And yes, the guy can really sing. People think I live a rock-star life, said Tim. Believe me, Mick Jagger never gets lost in a Hertz parking lot looking for his Ford Focus.

A former All-American baseball player, he traded the sports stage for the comedy stage and never looked back. The St. Louis native taught himself to play guitar and tested the waters at area comedy clubs. But over the next 10 years, working to support his family was full-time. Comedy was only part-time. By 2002, Hawkins was ready to launch his full-time career as a professional comedian.

His art form was honed primarily in churches, with a brief 6-month stint performing in prisons as part of Chuck Colsons Prison Fellowship.

With 4 kids of his own and a wife who is winning her battle with breast cancer, Tim gets new material daily from the perils of marriage and parenting. But it must be difficult to work clean all the time, right? Clean comedy is easy. Funny comedy is hard. So does Tim think hes funny? I'm not bragging, but one time I told a joke in front of a dead bird, and it flew away. And you can Google that.
