Get Cooking At Westfield Parkway With Free Westfield Family Fun Days April 18, 2012

Get cooking in April—join Westfield Parkway and the Westfield Family Program for Family Fun Days featuring “Young Chefs of Westfield.” Kids will learn how to fuel their bodies in a healthy way by encouraging them to get in the kitchen and cook with their families. Teaming up with Westfield Parkway as the official storytime partner is the El Cajon Public Library and official craft partner for 2012 events is The City of El Cajon Recreation Department.

April 18 will feature stories about food and gardening, starting with Pizza at Sally’s by Monica Wellington, which teaches lessons about where food comes from. The second book, Planting A Rainbow by Lois Ehlert, teaches children how to plant their own garden and nurture growth. Kids will then enjoy a snack and decorate their very own aprons that they can wear when helping out in the kitchen.
