Georgia Tech March Madness 2009 Asian Basketball Tournament! April 4, 2009

Tournament Info:-
$300 Per Team Entry Fee (FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED by registration
deadline in order to fully register your team for this tournament)- 24 Teams Maximum- 12 Players Maximum Per Team- NO AGE LIMIT (Asian Only)- REGISTRATION DEADLINE: March 14th 2009!- Every team must arrive to the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center by 8:15am to receive their tournament packet, etc.- Tip off will begin at 9:00am sharp!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tournament Awards:- 1st Place team receives a cash prize of $2,000 (if 24 teams participate) + Trophy.
- 2nd Place team will recieve a Trophy.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tournament Format:- There will be 6 divisions.- 4 teams per division.- Each team is guaranteed 3 preliminary games. (So each team will play EVERY TEAM in their own division)
- All 24 teams will make playoffs. (Therefore every team is guaranteed a total of 4 games)- The top 8 seeded teams will get a bye in the first round of the playoffs.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Preliminary AND Playoff Games Format:- Each game will have two 10 minute halfs.-
Each half, the clock will run non-stop for the first 8 minutes and will
stop on all dead balls for the final 2 minutes. (In exception to time
outs)- OVERTIME will be 4 minutes long. (If Necessary)- ANY EXTRA OVERTIME will be 2 minutes long. (If Necessary)- Each team is allowed 2 (30 second) time outs per half of each game.
- Each team is allowed 1 (30 second) time out in ANY OVERTIME REGULATION. (If Necessary)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Championship Game Format:- The championship game will have two 15 minute halfs -
The clock will run non-stop for the first 10 minutes and will stop on
all dead balls for the final 2 minutes. (In exception to time outs)- OVERTIME will be 5 minutes long. (If Necessary)- ANY EXTRA OVERTIME will be 3 minutes long. (If Necessary)- Each team is allowed 2 (30 second) time outs per half of each game.
- Each team is allowed 1 (30 second) time out in ANY OVERTIME REGULATION. (If Necessary)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tournament Rules/Officiating:
- Professional GHSA Referees have been hired to officiate in this tournament. (These are the same referees that officiate at Georgia High School Basketball Games.)- They will be officiating according to High School Basketball Rules.- If any team(s) get into an argument and foul language is used, the player(s) can/will get a technical.
- Any single player who receives 2 TECHNICALS in a single game will get ejected from the game.- If any player is ejected in more than 1 game, then that player will be disqualified from the tournament.- If any fight breaks out, the player(s) and/or possibly team(s) can/will be disqualified, depending on the referees decision.-
Each Team must have a team captain, and the only person to talk to an
official about any call made on the court will be ONLY the team captain
(unless team has a coach). Depending on the official, teams CAN get a
TECHNICAL called on them, due to arguing.
- Every team must be wearing jerseys or same color coordinated apparel and should have a primary team color and an alternate team color.
- Every player must have a number on ATLEAST the back of their jerseys, due to the officials keeping track of personal fouls. The numbers on the back of the jerseys must be visible CLEARLY from atleast 20 feet away. (If any players fail to have visible #'s on back of jersey, then that player will be penalized with a technical foul).- We will be keeping track of fouls, 5 fouls per player is a FOUL OUT.-
We will also be keeping track of team fouls per half. Each half a
1-and-1 is awarded after the 7th team foul and a 2-shot bonus after the

Contestants must be of at least 50% Asian decent. If ANY contestants seem to look questionable of asian decent, they will be asked for a birth certificate for proof. If participant does not have a birth certificate, then they will not be allowed to participate. No Exceptions...
