From the Horse’s Mouth: Firsthand Perspectives on Animals, Law, and Policy in the United States
March 27 , 2009

With Americans spending over $40 billion a year on their animals, and an increasing number of high-profile animal cases like the dog-fighting prosecution of Michael Vick, the time has come for nearly every legal professional to grapple with animal law issues in one form or another.

Join experts in the field of animal law for a series of discussions among key elected officials, law enforcement officers, agency officials, veterinarians, economists, and state and federal judges to explore how professionals outside the field of animal law address legal issues affecting animals in everyday practice.

The conference is presented in partnership between Georgetown Law and The Humane Society of the United States, with the generous support of Bob Barker, the Glaser Progress Foundation, and Hayward Richard Pressman (Georgetown Law ’66).
