Geja’s Café, 340 W. Armitage, known for romantic fondue dining, will hold an Exclusive Wine Tasting and Auction on Sunday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m. to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Tickets for this tasting/auction are $50 each.

The wine tasting will be moderated by Patrick W. Fegan, nationally known wine authority and founder of the Chicago Wine School. The event will feature a tasting of French Bordeaux and Burgundy, Italian Super-Tuscan, Australian Shiraz and more. “If you want to taste some of the highly acclaimed wines around the world, this is the event to attend”, says Jeff Lawler, Geja’s Café General Manager.

Following the tasting attendees will have the opportunity to bid on some of the world’s most highly acclaimed wines, including classified growths from Bordeaux and Premier Crus from Burgundy led by Michael Davis of the national acclaimed wine auction firm of Hart Davis Hart. A California wine country weekend for two, including airfare, lodging, dining and “insider” winery tours will highlight the auction.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Diabetes, with its complications, is a leading cause of death by disease in the United States. It affects more than 16 million Americans and costs the United States in excess of $98 billion each year.
